e-Tanzz
Terms of Service
Last updated 4 September 2026
The agreement between you and Tsukuba Tech for using e-Tanzz. Section 5 is the important one: it explains exactly what an e-Tanzz signature records, and is honest about what we can and cannot promise about enforceability.
01This agreement
These terms are between you and Tsukuba Tech, 茨城県つくば市, Japan, the operator of e-Tanzz. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.
If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you are allowed to bind that company, and “you” means the company.
02Your account
You need an account to send documents. You do not need one to sign a document somebody sends you, and we will never require the people you send to create one.
Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live.
03What you may not do with it
Do not use e-Tanzz to:
- Send documents you have no right to send, or impersonate somebody else.
- Obtain a signature by deception — including altering a document after somebody has agreed to its contents.
- Send malware, phishing, or bulk unsolicited mail.
- Break the law, or infringe someone else’s rights.
- Attack the service — probing, scraping, overloading it, or trying to reach documents that are not yours.
Signing links are meant for one named recipient. Deliberately circulating one to get an unintended person to sign is a breach of these terms.
04Your documents stay yours
We claim no ownership of anything you upload. You keep every right you had in your documents before you sent them.
You give us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your documents, show them to the recipients you name, produce the signed version, send the related emails, and — only if you use an AI feature — process that document’s text to generate the result you asked for. We do not use your documents to train models.
05What an e-Tanzz signature is, and is not
Read this section even if you skip the rest.
e-Tanzz produces a lightweight electronic signature with a detailed evidence record. For each signature we record that a unique link was sent to a specific address, when it was first opened, when it was signed, the name and title the signer typed, their explicit confirmation of intent, and the IP address and browser they signed from. We keep the original document alongside the signed one, unchanged.
We do not promise that any particular signature will be legally enforceable. Whether an electronic signature holds up depends on where you are, what kind of transaction it is, what the law requires for that transaction, how the signer was authenticated, and how a dispute is handled. Some documents — certain property, succession and family matters, among others, depending on the country — require notarisation, witnessing, or a qualified certificate-based signature that e-Tanzz does not provide.
Deciding whether e-Tanzz is appropriate for a given document is your responsibility. If it matters, take advice. We are telling you plainly what we record so that you can judge it, rather than making a claim we are not in a position to stand behind.
The AI features are not legal advice
The document check, summaries and answers describe what a document appears to say. They can be wrong, and they can miss things. They are not legal advice, they are not a review, and nothing e-Tanzz produces should be treated as a substitute for reading the document or asking a lawyer.
06Plans and payment
The free plan includes a monthly allowance of signature requests, with no card required. Paid plans raise that allowance and add workflow features; they are billed monthly in advance and renew until you cancel.
Cancel whenever you like — your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and then stops. We do not refund part-months, and we will not bill you again after you cancel.
If we change prices we will give account holders at least 30 days’ notice by email before the change applies to them.
07Availability
We work to keep e-Tanzz available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can, but the service is provided as it is and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability on the standard plans.
Documents already signed do not depend on us staying online to remain valid: the signature is burned into the PDF, and you can download and keep that file. That is deliberate. You should not need us in order to hold your own agreement.
08Liability
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business, or lost data; and our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you are on the free plan, that figure is zero, which is the trade you are making by not paying for it.
09Ending it
You can close your account at any time. We delete your documents and personal data within 30 days, as described in the Privacy Policy. Download anything you want to keep first — we cannot recover it afterwards.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
10Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use e-Tanzz after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the courts of Japan have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where consumer protection law in your own country gives you the right to bring proceedings there instead.
